The Broadwalk Shopping Centre is delighted to announce that the winner of its third 'In Edgware We Care' competition – which was run in partnership with The Times Series – is Kidz Klub.
The 'In Edgware We Care' campaign aims to support local community groups and organisations by offering them a financial helping hand. After receiving an incredible 115 votes Kidz Klub in Hendon - which aims to engage with youngsters from the nearby estate at an early age to detract them from crime and teach them good morals in a fun atmosphere - has been voted as the winner following a public poll through The Times Series.
Alison Pickering, the founder of Kidz Klub will be presented with £500 to spend at Poundland within The Broadwalk Centre. The money will enable Alison and her team of volunteers to purchase food, games and equipment for the club's summer camp and family barbeque next year.
Angela Brooks, Centre Manager at The Broadwalk Centre, commented:
"The support that Kidz Klub received from the public was phenomenal and goes to show just how loved and appreciated Alison's work is within the local community. We are delighted to have been able to present Alison with this prize as both she and her team of volunteers work tirelessly to engage with local youngsters to avoid them making the wrong decisions during their teenage years."
Nominations for the fourth round of the 'In Edgware We Campaign' are now open. The third £500 voucher donation will be from Robert Dyas within The Broadwalk Centre. Each nomination should highlight the location (including postcode), the type of project, group or service, details on what the £500 worth of vouchers would be used for and contact details for both the nominee and the nominator.
Perhaps your local charity or community club needs some DIY materials, a nursing home would like some gardening supplies for their residents or your school could benefit from some new cooking utensils for their home economics classes - whatever the cause, as long as it helps those in Edgware and Barnet, and is not for personal gain, we want to hear about it.
All nominations should be submitted in writing to The Broadwalk's In Edgware We Care Campaign, c/o PMW Communications, Stane Court, Stane Street, Billingshurst, West Sussex, RH14 9HP or by emailing email@example.com
